What information do I need in order to include Ric O’Barry’s Dolphin Project in my will?
If you decide to include Ric O’Barry’s Dolphin Project in your will, you will need to know that our tax identification number is 04-2718182 and our current legal address is 450 Seventh Avenue, 31st Floor, New York, NY 10123.

How can I make a bequest to Ric O’Barry’s Dolphin Project?
There are several ways to make a bequest to Ric O’Barry’s Dolphin Project. Types of gifts include:
Specific bequest – this is a gift with a specific dollar amount attached or an asset such as securities and/or real estate.

“I give to Ric O’Barry’s Dolphin Project, a charitable corporation organized under the laws of Washington, DC, whose current legal address is 450 Seventh Avenue, 31st Floor, New York, New York, 10123 [the sum of $ ___________ or ____% (or all) of my residuary estate or a specific asset] to be used for its general charitable purposes.”

Can I leave conditions on the bequest?
It is recommended that you make your bequest as general as possible to ensure that Ric O’Barry’s Dolphin Project is able to utilize your bequest’s funding for animals where it is needed the most. Do I need to inform Ric O’Barry’s Dolphin Project of my bequest intentions?
There is no requirement for our bequest donors to notify us; however, we would be delighted to know if you do include Ric O’Barry’s Dolphin Project in your estate plans, so that we can say “thank you” and welcome you into the Ric O’Barry’s Dolphin Project Legacy Society.

You can return Ric O’Barry’s Dolphin Project’s Estate Intention Form to the address listed on the form or email [email protected] with any details you would like to include regarding your bequest. We assure you that any information you provide to us will be confidential.
What other ways can I include Ric O’Barry’s Dolphin Project in my estate plan?
In addition to leaving a bequest in your will, you may also consider gifts of life insurance, retirement plans, real estate, and/or appreciated securities.

Sample #1: Percentage Bequest 

“I give, devise and bequeath to Ric O’Barry’s Dolphin Project (tax identification number 53-0225390), a charitable corporation organized under Delaware law in 2014, now maintaining its headquarters in Miami at P.O. Box 224 Coconut Grove FL 33233

 

, _______% of the rest and residue of my estate.” 

Sample #2: Residuary Bequest 

“I give, devise and bequeath to Ric O’Barry’s Dolphin Project (tax identification number 53-0225390), a charitable corporation organized under Delaware law in 1954, now maintaining its headquarters in tMiami at P.O. Box 224 Coconut Grove FL 33233,  the rest and residue of my estate.” 

Sample #3: Bequest for a Specific Amount

“I give and bequeath to Ric O’Barry’s Dolphin Project (tax identification number 53-0225390), a charitable corporation organized under Delaware law in 1954, now maintaining its headquarters in Miami at P.O. Box 224 Coconut Grove FL 33233,  the sum of $________________ .”

Sample Bequest #4 Contingent Bequest 

“In the event that (name or names; i.e., spouse, children, sibling, heirs) shall not survive me, or shall die during the administration of my estate, within ____ days from the date of my death, or as a result of a common disaster, then I give, devise and bequeath those beneficiaries’ shares of my estate to Ric O’Barry’s Dolphin Project, (tax identification number 53-0225390), a charitable corporation organized under Delaware law in 1954, now maintaining it headquarters in Miami at P.O. Box 224 Coconut Grove FL 33233.”
